Jeep Patriot: Engine Power

There are two engines to choose from for the 2017 Jeep Patriot. Both options will put plenty of power in your hands…or, rather, underneath your foot.

The first is the standard 2.0L 16-valve 4-cylinder engine. This option yields up to 158 horsepower and 141 lb-ft of torque. You can match it with a 5-speed manual transmission or an available CVT2 automatic transmission.

The second is the available 2.4L 16-valve 4-cylinder World Engine. This upgrade delivers a booming 172 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque. You can also pair it with a 5-speed manual transmission or an available 6-speed AutoStick automatic transmission.

2017 Jeep Patriot: Towing Capabilities

With the standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, you can tow up to 1,000 pounds.* With the available 2.4L World Engine, you can tow up to 2,000 pounds.*

Either way, that's putting all that torque to good use. Whether you need to tow a trailer with a small boat, motorcycle, snowmobile, or some work equipment, the Patriot is the vehicle with the muscle to do it.
