Durable Performance

With a 5.7L eight-cylinder HEMI® variable valve timing engine and six-speed automatic transmission, the 2017 RAM 3500 can generate up to 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The next generation engine controller consolidates the engine and transmission controllers into one component, optimizing performance and coordination. Heavy duty engine cooling is then applied to ensure that regardless of force, your engine won't burn out on you.

To moderate the large quantities of power that your engine is producing, the 3500 includes an available 220-amp alternator. With such a high-powered alternator, the engine and electronically controlled throttle can run at peak performance at all times. The RAM 3500 also includes a long-lasting 730-amp maintenance free battery. 

Towing & Off Road

Cargo and towing capabilities stand out as two of the most impressive features of the 3500. Thanks to its powerful engine, this truck can tow up to 11,200 pounds of cargo. Keep your haul secure with the many towing accessories that come standard to the vehicle. A seven-pin wiring harness and class V receiver hitch will make connecting to your trailer a breeze. Furthermore,  powered trailer tow mirrors with manual fold-away will increase driver awareness and aid in maneuvering tricky turns.

In addition to trailer capabilities, drivers have plenty of bed space to store their cargo in. At 76.3 inches long and a maximum of 66.4 inches wide (51 inches between wheel wells), the bed of the 3500 is one of the most spacious to date. Using the available cargo-view camera, drivers can observe their cargo from the interior display whenever they want.

The RAM 3500 is also perfect for off-roading, due to its stable design. It includes a 6,000 pound front axle and fortified stabilizer bar. Front and rear shock absorbers then steady the truck when driving over bumpy terrain.  

Safety Conscious

Though it may be built for power, the RAM 3500 is also built for safety. While the body itself has been constructed to withstand impacts, advanced multistage front airbags are also installed. These airbags can sense the severity of a collision, and will deploy with matching force. Supplemental side-curtain and seat-mounted airbags are also equipped for extra cabin protection.

 

Speed control helps regulate the momentum of your vehicle when towing a heavy load, and tremendous stopping power is derived from the anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes. With the added help of electronic stability control, you can keep your truck steady at all times.
