Jeep Compass Power & Performance

The 2018 Jeep Compass comes standard with a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that makes 180 horsepower and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. In front-wheel drive models, you can also opt for a 6-speed automatic transmission, and in 4-wheel drive models you can get a 9-speed automatic for even smoother shifts. With the manual transmission, you’ll get an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rating of 23 city/32 highway MPG.

Jeep Off-road Capability

Two different 4x4 systems are available, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs on your drives around New Holland, Lancaster, and Reading. Jeep Active Drive offers a rear axle disconnect that can switch automatically between 2- and 4-wheel drive to help increase efficiency. Jeep Active Drive Low is only available in the Trailhawk trim level, which adds a 20:1 crawl ratio and low range.

Both come with the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System that offers four driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sport, and Sand/Mud. The Trailhawk trim also adds a Rock mode.

Interior Features

The 2018 Jeep Compass offers seating for five on standard cloth upholstery. The front seats are 6-way manually adjustable, and the rear seat folds 60/40. Available options include leather upholstery, power adjustable and heated front seats, and a luxurious heated steering wheel.

With all five seats in use, there’s 27.2 ft³ of cargo space in the trunk. Fold the back seat forward, and you’ll find a total of 59.8 ft³ of cargo capacity. A power liftgate is also available for extra convenience.

2018 Compass Modern Technology

A 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard, and offers Bluetooth® connectivity and two USB ports for charging. Two upgraded systems are available, so you can opt for a larger 7- or 8.4-inch screen, and add helpful features such as navigation and advanced smartphone connectivity using Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.

Upgraded systems also come with standard satellite radio and HD Radio™, so you can access hundreds of channels of your favorite music and talk radio. For better sound quality, add the 9-speaker BeatsAudio™. Other standard features include a rearview camera, push-button start, and air conditioning.
