The uprated engine is an available 370-horsepower 6.7-liter diesel six-cylinder engine that uses a six-speed automatic transmission and either four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.

Depending on the configuration, the Ram 2500 can tow up to 19,680 pounds and can haul up to 4,010 pounds in the bed. Several features are available to enhance its capability, including a Class V receiver hitch, a seven-pin wiring harness, a trailer brake controller, tow hooks, and a remote tailgate release. Another helpful feature is the trailer sway damping feature, which adjusts the brakes to control excess trailer movement.
