2020 Jeep Compass

The 2020 Jeep Compass arrives in showrooms in four trim levels with just a few minor revisions to last year's outstanding model. The base trim is the Sport, with the Latitude forming a mid-level trim, and the Limited as the high-end trim. The Trailhawk occupies its own position as an off-road-oriented trim. It's powered by a 2.4-liter Tigershark® 4-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque via standard front-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive.

Jeep Compass Technology and Equipment

The Sport trim includes a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone integration, six speakers, and USB ports in the front and back seats. Dual-zone climate control is also standard. Stepping up from there, you'll find features such as alloy wheels, simulated leather upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, a satellite radio tuner, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The top-end trim provides remote start, an auto-dim mirror, a bigger touchscreen, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. It also includes a power-adjustable driver's seat and a household-style power outlet. If off-roading is your pleasure, the AWD Trailhawk gives you the Latitude's features plus the Limited's bigger touchscreen. It also features off-road tires, a specially raised and tuned suspension, Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System with crawl modes, and underbody skid plates. When properly equipped, the Compass can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

Available safety packages offer features such as Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning Plus, and the Jeep Active Drive intelligent AWD system to manage traction. The Jeep Compass received a 4-Star Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA), so wherever you go you can be assured of peace of mind.

Cabin Design and Ride Quality

The cabin design of the Jeep Compass is surprisingly elegant for a compact SUV that doesn't carry a luxury badge. It has plenty of small storage areas and cubby holes for stowing your small gear, including the center console and a good-sized glove box. The ride quality is smooth, and the Compass does a great job of mitigating the bumps and jars of the road. Controls are intuitive and easy to reach and use.
